Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
Lala’s Family Day Care is eligible to the Child Care Subsidy.
The Child Care Subsidy is the main way the Government assists families with their child care fees.
CCS aims to:
– assist families with the cost of child care,
– facilitate individuals to participate, or increase their participation, in the workforce,
– facilitate children’s attendance in child care to support their early learning and development.
Individuals’ eligibility for CCS is determined in relation to each session of care delivered by an approved child care service.
Child Care Subsidy is paid to approved providers to pass on as a fee reduction to individuals.
You can apply for the CCS online or in person through Centrelink.
Centrelink will automatically assess your eligibility for Child Care Subsidy.
More information is available on the Department of Social Services website – Family Assistance Guide.

Australian Immunisation
From 1 January 2018, only children who are fully immunised for their age OR have a medical reason not to be immunised OR are on a catch-up schedule can be enrolled in childcare.
Children who have not been immunised due to their parent’s vaccine conscientious objection cannot be enrolled in childcare.
All parents need to provide childcare staff with appropriate immunisation documentation to enrol their child. This includes long day care, family day care, occasional care and pre-school.
Children who have had all the immunisations for their age will have the words “Up to date” on the top left-hand side of their AIR Immunisation History Statement. The due date of the next immunisation will be recorded in the bottom section of the Statement.
Children who cannot be immunised for medical reasons, or who have natural immunity, will still be recorded as “Up to date” if an AIR Medical Exemption Form has been filled out by a GP/nurse and sent to the AIR. The medical exemption or natural immunity will be listed near the bottom of the updated AIR Immunisation History Statement.
For older children who have had all of their immunisations, their Statement will include the words “This child has received all vaccines required by 5 years of age” at the bottom of the page.
Overseas immunisation schedules may be different from the Australian schedule. If your child was immunised overseas, their immunisation record will need to be checked by a GP/nurse who will transfer the information to the AIR. Parents should then request an updated AIR Immunisation History Statement to give to the childcare centre.
How to get Immunisation record?
Statements are automatically generated upon completion of the childhood vaccination schedule (usually around four years of age) and are mailed to the address most recently recorded by Medicare for that individual. Parents can obtain an Australian Immunisation Register Statement in the following ways:
Online – through MyGov once an account has been created
Medicare Express Plus App – once a MyGov account has been created
Over the counter – at a Medicare Service Centre
Phone – call AIR on 1800 653 809
Additionally, parents, guardians or a legal representative of an individual can also request an Immunisation History Statement for individuals incapable of managing their own health affairs.
Vaccinations given through school program may not appear in this statement.
